Fair Trade Campus Week Sept. 24-28

Again this September Acadia celebrates our commitment to Fair Trade during Fair Trade Campus Week. Events and special promotions are held across the university all week starting Monday Sept. 24th with visiting speaker Dr. Gavin Fridell, Canada Research Chair in international development at Saint Mary's University. Acadia aspiring to become a plastic free campus

Acadia is taking steps to achieve its aspiration of becoming a plastic-free campus. Many initiatives to reduce single use disposable plastics, that have been shown to pollute the environment and harm wildlife, have been implemented by the University and the Acadia Students’ Union (ASU).

March 28 event explores local and global perspectives on plastic waste

The United Nations predicts there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish by 2050. That’s a fine kettle of fish! Join us for a special event on March 28 exploring this important health and environmental issue. Featuring documentary screening of THE SMOG OF THE SEA, Talk and photo exhibit by kayak guide, Jennifer MacLatchy, presentation by Valley Waste Resource Management and a public announcement from Acadia University and the Acadia Students' Union.
