Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the current campus and travel conditions. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled.

Updates will be posted on www.acadiau.ca and pre-recorded on Acadia’s Information Line: 902-585-4636 (585-INFO) and on 585 phone system voicemail. If you need emergency-related information, please contact the Department of Safety and Security by dialing 88 on all 585-phone systems, or by calling 902-585-1103.

Acadia SDG Month 2022

Acadia UN Sustainable Development Goals Month is presented each November in partnership with students in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and Community Development as part of their applied course work.SDG Poster

2022 Schedule of Events

SDG Hopscotch

Thursday November 10th 2:30pm - 3:30pm

Look for SDG hopscotch on campus and learn about the UN Sustainable Development Goals and upcoming events.

Wednesday November 16th 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Sustainable Development Goals Fair

Visit the Pop-Up Fair in the SUB intended to promote the UN Sustainable Development Goals and increase awareness of the goals at Acadia. This event is focused on several SDGs and features a Clothing Swap to encourage responsible consumption.

Water Consumption: Guess how much water is used in the development of a clothing staple found in almost every closet. Closest guesses are entered to win a prize.
Responsible Consumption Clothing Swap: Have clothes you don't wear anymore but don't have the time to donate them? Bring your clean clothes and swap them for something new at the clothing swap.
Industry Learn about the impacts of the clothing industry on the SDGs and what you can do.
Poverty Learn about global issues related to poverty.

Plus SDG Tips and Tricks:

Learn small ways you can incorporate the SDGs in your everyday life, see what Acadia is doing as a signatory to the UN SDG Accord and share your own ideas! And, spin the wheel to answer trivia questions and a chance to win! Use all your knowledge from the Sustainable Development Goals Fair to answer the trivia questions.
