November is Acadia SDG Month
November is sustainable development goals month at Acadia. In 2015 the United Nations Member States adopted 17 ambitious sustainable development goals as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Acadia is committed to aligning with these goals and promoting awareness about this important global work for our environment and society. The university is working on ways to strategically embed the goals in teaching, research and operations.
One of the ways students are engaged in this work is by creating applied learning opportunities in the classroom. Building on course work from the 2020/2021 ESST 4003 class, this year's students in Environmental and Sustainability Studies are organizing events and activities throughout November.
Themes for the event include: Good Health & Wellbeing, Sustainable Cities & Communities, Responsible Consumption & Production and Climate Action.
