New bike sharing program at Acadia begins on Earth Day

As part of Acadia’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, a new bike sharing program is starting on campus in spring 2017. The program, called Acadia Book-A-Bike, begins on Earth Day, Saturday April 22nd.  Members of the Acadia community with a valid Acadia ID card can check out a bike at the Vaughan Memorial Library, just like checking out a book. Four donated bikes are available and the program will run from April to November.

This season is a trial and if demand merits, the program will continue next year. To help improve the program comments are encouraged. Participants are asked to share feedback by submitting suggestions in the box at the circulation desk or by emailing sustainability.acadiau.ca.

The Acadia Book-A-Bike program is a partnership between the Acadia Sustainability Office, the Acadia Students’ Union and the Vaughan Memorial Library with support from the Municipality of Kings County and the RCMP.  To learn more visit the circulation desk or visit http://sustainability.acadiau.ca/book-a-bike.html.
