Wolfville, NS - Acadia recently partnered with Organic Nova Scotia (ONS) to support organic producers in the province and promote the benefits of organic to the campus community.

With funding from the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture (NSDA) multiple collaborative initiatives are underway on the Acadia campus. The five projects include increasing organic purchasing at Acadia, education and engagement at the Acadia Community Farm, which practices organic agriculture, student food box pop-ups with the Wolfville Farmer's Market, an organic study tour for students, and campus promotions during Canada Organic Week and Acadia SDG month.

The project builds on Acadia's existing efforts to purchase local food, its designation as the first Organic Campus in Canada, and commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The 2023/2024 annual goal is SDG #2 Zero Hunger, which is focused on increasing food security and supporting sustainable agriculture.
