Acadia students learned about local organic agriculture on October 22nd

Acadia students at TapRoot Farms

The rain and cold did not dampen the spirits of the student participants in the Organic Study Tour on Sunday October 22nd. Acadia students from multiple programs participated in a voluntary full day study tour of local organic producers and partners.

Students visited Just Us Coffee Roasters, TapRoot Farms, The Wolfville Farmer’s Market, and Medford Farms to learn about organic agriculture, local food and beverage production, and the Acadia Organic Campus Program.

The tour was coordinated by the Acadia Sustainability Office in partnership with Organic Nova Scotia. Many thanks to our hosts, students, and special guests from Acadia Dining Services, who also joined in the tour.
